Radhakrishnan, His Excellency the former President of India and primarily a teacher and philosopher, once said “Every student should develop an intellectual habit, an attitude of mind, a temper of social behaviour”. To meet this objective. As an alternative and to enlarge the activities, National Service Scheme (NSS) was established in 1969.

NSS is a permanent youth programme under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and sport, Govt. of India. NSS is designed to impart education through community service in socially relevant projects. The motto of NSS is “Not Me but You”. This upholds the need of selfless service and appreciation of the other man’s point of view and also consideration for fellow human being.
